Just so I can remember what the hell I did....

This will make sense to you if you make the Just One More Row Heartbeat top. I am down to the edgings and fiddley bits.
The sleeve gusset was worked by marking the sleeves out. When I knit the long edge, I knit side, SSK into the first sleeve stitch, knit sleeve, K2tog using the last sleeve stitch and first side stitch. On the return, P2 tog using one side and one sleeve stitch. Then I worked the SSK/K2tog row once more. This sounds harder than it was, and will make sense if you work the pattern.

Looking good Bets. The yarn and the pattern arrived. I am not sure I care for how the Mayfair feels. I need to swatch it.

What a clever design. It is actually worked in one piece? I can't wait to see it on you. I have a hard time visualizing how the JOMR tops look--don't like those mannequins they use. Great top for spring weather--purty colors too.

Suzann-I like Mayfair because of how it makes my knitting LOOK.

Kelly, it's worked front, back, and then joined at the shoulders. It's worked as one piece from there. There were baggy spots on the mannequin, so I knew I wanted to adjust the fit right off the bat. That's why there are so many notes.

This top is really pretty - and you've inspired me. I'm now mentally picking through my stash to find the right yarn.

I work part-time at the LYS that Jill V. (the JOMR designer) teaches at and I'll be working with her next week - would you mind if I printed out a snip of your blog with photos to show her? I think she'd get a kick out of seeing it!

Bets,
You and Alice are geniuses! I'm too brain-tired now to comprehend the notes...will look later but am amazed at all the goals that you tackled: body shaping, set-in-sleeves, underarm gussets, and all with a modular design as a starting point. Fearless knitting indeed!
BTW, it looks very pretty, too :-).

Wow...that is really a cute top. And you are so organized to keep good notes like that for future reference...(me...if I'd had to fiddle like that...it would be a one shot wonder...and later I'd wonder how I did it!) Nice! Please post a pic when it's done...on a real live body!
