Apparently, this is totally whacked, as is singing to your yarn. Whatever. Let me wear my dork badge proudly. It's the only one I've got.
I got a package in from Belgium yesterday! YAY! My friend Doug and his wife sent me some KNITTING mags in exchange for some good coffee. Trends are going to big deep cowls, lots of light gauge ruffles, and hardly any ponchos. I think I got a hell of a deal! My German is really shaky, but thank goodness, they believe in good schematics. I would post a pic, but blogger is choking on photos again. More later....
Ah, much better! Here they are!

Uh-oh...Doug and I do that all the time with songs. What does that say about us? Possibly the we have DORK tattooed in the middle of our foreheads. Not news. We love to make our kids cringe (payback), but secretly they love it.
Can't wait to see the special Belgian delivery! Blogger's being jerky to both of us.
Darn! Ponchos are out?! The almost finished UFO I pulled out of my closet and worked on for a couple hours last night is toast? I came to the same conclusion today after going thru latest Herrschner's catalog and not seeing one knitted poncho, just lots of self-striping and long skinny cardigans; DS#2 said it's OK, Mom, just wait another 40 years, it'll be back, where did the kid learn his sarcasm?
Looking forward to pics of your new knitting magazines. I just rec'd my first Elsbeth Lavold pattern book, I wish she used overall garment schematics!
DH and I do this weird thing whenever we see someone who looks like a celebrity/rock star, etc., either on the news, when we are out and about, or just about anywhere: We'll say, "There's so-and-so (like the Pope) riding a skateboard", and it's usually so ridiculous, we fall out in fits of laughter. Twisted, I know, but funny.
Forget the sweater, I want that hat! Well...and her hair...and okay the sweater too.
Wow, I think you got the better of the deal! I'm glad Ponchos are going out, only because I look horrid in them and personally I'm not sure anyone looks fabulous in them except for the models, they are warm though! Can't wait to see what you knit!
Good score, Bets! I love that purple sweater on the cover. There would be no musical soundtracks on commercials if they weren't mangling old R&R songs. I personally think there is an appropriate R&R song for every situation. Shades of the Big Chill. ;-}
Does it bug anyone else to hear Led Zepplin in the background of Cadillac and Buick ads? I would NEVER have chosen those songs to go with those products. Maybe THAT's why they are paired that way.
