Not THAT fugly-

Well, ok, it is just a little fugly.

I've been playing with a bag of ashy rose Elann Bag Wool, and a few balls of Nashua Wooly Stripes Tweed since yesterday noon. The rose is hidd-e-yus. I truly LOVE the yarn, tho, and can't picture giving it away just because it's ugly. I wish I'd bought that ugly ugly Nashua WST citrus tweed blend. THAT would have been the perfect color to go with this fugly pink. (It's a bad sign when I can come up with good matches for colors I hate.) I had to use SOMETHING with this rose. I only had 600 yards. (They should make Yarnburger Helper to help me stretch yarn when I don't buy enough.)

I ordered a new DSL box today. I called ATT tech support to consult with them before I ordered. Since the box is lifeless, we have no idea whether the power cord is the problem, or we have a dead box. It's kind of scary when the tech support answering recordings are malfunctioning. I heard two English recordings and a Spanish one. All at once!

Finally, I talked to a person. I almost fell off the chair trying to stick a paperclip into the back of our wall-mounted server. I'll do anything to get off of this pokey slow dial-up, which, incidentally, is what most of our town still has!

Hey, junior goddess, Remember that beauty as well as ugliness is in the eye of the beholder! I shyed away from the Nashua citrus yarn too, but you're right it might have been the perfect match for that rose you don't like!
I do enjoy your blog! Hope you can improve your isp problems. I got DSL and it can also be pretty slow, but it's a lot better than the dial-up I had.

Betsy, I don't think it's fugly at all. But then, I like rose pink. Or just about any pink, although I'm more likely to knit pink's darker cousin, wine/mulberry/blue red by any other name.

So, what's it going to be? And who is getting it? Inquiring minds want to know!

Bets, it's not so fugly. Your threat to send it to me has lost some of its impact. ;-}

I like it too.

And really like your idea of a yarn helper.

And I hear ya on the dial up. I don't know how small south fuckcakes Texas is but at our cottage, the entire county shares one AOL number. Powered by a hamster on a wheel.

It's looking good, Bets. Glad to hear that I'm not the only one that looks for good matches for colors I hate. I catch myself doing this way too often --it's as if I didn't have enough yarn to knit in colors that I love! P.S. I send my deepest sympathy for your dsl box.

Hey, I don't find your combo even remotely fugly. I think it looks great.
Good luck with the DSL.

Yes, come out of the dark ages! I can't remember the last time I used dial-up. We currently have dsl, but we will have to decide between dsl or cable at the new house.

I don't think the colors are that bad, but then I tend to like these combinations of pinks/purples.

Marie-it's not a choice to come out of the dark ages. Faster service isn't available, except thru satellite, which actually gives Mark the heebies security wise. It's like that for most of the town. Dial-up is all we have. I can't even get cable!!!

You are a better woman than I! Am trying (so hard) to knit a pair of socks that are orange, etc. I despise orange - but I feel obligated to knit it - how crazy is that? I actually had to start a pair in a colour I like and reward myself with those for every few rows done on the fugly socks. Thank God, one of my neices is a Potter fan - they'll be out of my house quickly!
