I can barely knit

If you've been popping in for a few weeks now, you've noticed one thing....headache. Me. I barely know where the Motrin lives at my house. The Monday before my dad died, I went to the dentist. She checked, was pretty sure it was not my gums, possibly my sinuses, and gave me some Amoxycillin. 500mg horse pills.

The day after I got back from my dad's funeral, my face went numb. Yesterday afternoon, I had a little trouble with my binocular vision. This morning, any hope of my eyes working together was totally shot. I walked into the shop, got a quick once-over from my local eye doctor, and Mark and I locked the door and went to the ER.

My DH was good for ER comedy. Cat scan? "We don't have a cat!" Eye patch? "If you buy two, you'll look like Madonna." Then he looked at me and said "Arrggh!"
Anyhow, the prognosis? Sinusitis. I doubt it. The cure? 250mg Amoxycillin. I REALLY doubt that. In the meantime, I gotta go fix up my Johnny Depp look.
I've been working on Baby Surprise for Enid. She saw it today. That's about all I can manage.

Bets, I have been absolutely crippled by sinusitis in the past, unable to work, walk, think, sit upright. So believe it. Once I returned home after an MD visit confirming the sinusitis and saw a puppy wandering alone near my home. I stopped (I had ZERO business driving) and coaxed the pup to me to look for a collar tag and as I leaned forward, my equilibrium exploded and I fell forward to the ground scaring the beejezus out of the pup who ran away and showing my neighbors what a drunk home at mid day looks like. Amoxicillin will not work, you need the heavy duty stuff. Make sure you take acidophilus to counteract the evil wreaked by the antibiotics. Stay in bed, darkened room, waited on hand & foot & it will pass.

Crap. Crap? Really? Oh, holy shit. Ok, it sounds like I had at least part of this right...the doubting amoxycillin part.

Isn't acidophilus in yoghurt? Light doesn't bother me. Oh, hell, I am blaming this on the damned "mulch fire" (read out-of-control garbage dump fire) that's been going on 30 miles away since December.

for folks w/ true sinusitis..i will prescribe amoxicillin 500mg 3x daily for 21 days (yes..that is everyday for 3 weeks) plus diflucan for the yeast infection you will invariably get with 3 weeks of amox. So...I honest to god want this to be a sinus infection....but i gotta ask.....did anyone do a neuro workup...i'm not talking cat scan...i'm talking making you squish your face up, blow cheeks out, stick tongue out, move eyes all over the place in tandem...run something soft then something prickly over your face etc...? If not...please go ask for one ....just for grins....it'll be fun...or maybe not...but not bad.

Sorry to hear you're still suffering. You can get the acidophilus in yogurt, or get the pills which are near the vitamin section.

We did an informal one last week, and the eye doctor did one this morning. The doc was talking Bell's palsey last week, but now that my eyes aren't working in tandem, I kinda doubt it. And it's not FAST enough to be Bell's. Everything I've heard/read says it's like a homerun out of the park. Bap! This has been going on and on and on. And one side of my face is numb, but not in a fixed spot. I still smile on both sides of my face.

Did an MRI today. Showed nothing. More at the doctor's tomorrow.

bets, it does take awhile for the sinusitus to dissipate. I'd take whatever antiobiotics the MD prescribed, like Lisa said 1500 mg of amoxy is alot & ditto on the diflucan. I know exactly how I used to get it all the time: my secretary and the guys I worked with had young kids who were always freaking sick. The parents were germy incubators. I should have worn a mask all day. You are around people face to face all the time so the likehood of catching something is high. Plus you touch things they touched, I assume. Buy vats of Purell & keep them on every flat surface. Hoping you find some relief!

But I wash my hands before every serving (practically), and wipe everything down with sanitizer and water....and I am NOT the least bit snotty. I'm not blowing strange junk out of my nose. That's the part that has me doubtful!

Dr.Benne also recommends a neuro work-up, plus kick-butt antiobiotics and diflucan. Whatever it is, you need to KNOW what it is. No matter what it is, I'm sorry you're having all this go on. Don't give up until you find the cause. And I'll bet you're cute in an eye patch. :-}

No useful suggestions, not my part of the body, but LOTs of sympathy. Hard to do anything at all when your head hurts except moan and wish it would go away.
